Jen’s Review
I had the privilege of working with Griffin Dunne on THIS IS US for three years.
When I heard he was writing a memoir, I knew it would be incredible. Every day on set with Griffin was filled with self deprecating stories and epic narratives that seemed too big to be real.
Standing on set with Griffin is like the universe wrapping you in a warm blanket of delightful laughs and overwhelming sorrow all at once.
His life is big. It is big in its joys, it is big in its characters, and it is big in its volume of grief.
It is no surprise that everything Griffin does is infused with a wholeness and soulfulness. He has lived many lives in one.
The one thing that I could not believe while reading this memoir was that of all of the hours I spent on set with him, of all of the incredible stories he has graced my ears with over the years, only one of those stories was in the book.
That is how many stories this man has. Enough to fill a book and three years of set chat with, while almost never repeating himself.
He is one-of-a-kind and a gift to the artistic community.
He is very dear to me and will always be very dear to me. After reading this book, he will be very dear to you.
